Before the Drainage Matting Goes In
Here is a photo of the crawl space before we got to work. Although this crawl space does not appear to be as wet and dirty as most other crawl space we encounter, there were hidden problems that were contributing to the homeowners' discomfort. The floor were always cold, and there was a musty odor seeping up from the crawl space.
Bringing in the Drainage Matting
Our crew has no problem getting their hands dirty to make sure the drainage matting goes in without fault. This is a very important step that is done when waterproofing any crawl space.
Drainage Matting Installation
Before installing a layer of CleanSpace Vapor barrier to waterproof the crawl space, we always install drainage matting. This is so that any water that may come into the crawl space can be drained out from underneath, leaving the area that is encapsulated totally dry.
SilverGlo and Sprayfoam
We lined the walls of the crawl space with SilverGlo and Sprayfoam insulation in order to keep the space's lower temperature from affecting the temperature of the rest of the home. Crawl spaces that are not insulated can lead to homes that never seem to warm up or cool down no matter what your thermostat is set to.
Crawl Space Floors
The floors in the crawl space after encapsulation are very smooth and free of any dirt or moisture. This is a much more pleasant crawl space than it was before we came in to do the work.
Fully Encapsulated Crawl Space
You can see that we were able to encapsulate this space even though it had some inconsistencies in the layout. We had no problem installing vapor barrier and drainage matting around the columns that protruded into the space from the walls.
Vapor Barrier Over Drainage Matting
This photo shows what a crawl space should look like after a professional installation. The CleanSpace vapor barrier is laid on top of the drainage matting and is fixed to the newly insulated walls in order to effectively keep moisture out of this space.

Here, you can see the attention to detail we take while installing our systems. The work came out flawless, and this homeowner no longer has a damp crawl space.
