Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Century Masonry Saves a Boathouse From Collapsing

This project had a little bit of everything when it comes to wall repair. The wall is bowing which was addressed with "Reinforcer" carbon fiber straps. We installed "Wall stitches ", which are the pieces of rebar inserted into the wall . "Wall pins" which were installed at the bottom of the wall to prevent the wall from sliding off of the poured concrete wall . And the corner Sheared, so to correct this we built out the corner and poured a concrete corner. The homeowner painted the wall when we were done.

Wall Pin

We installed wall pins to prevent the wall from sliding off of the poured concrete wall.

Before

This is an image of the boathouse before all of our repairs were completed. You can see that it needed structural repairs to stop the walls from bowing and cracking.

Wall Stitches

These "stitches" bring strength and ruggedness to the wall which was previously structurally compromised.

Building the Corner

We built up the corner and added rebar to tie the new concrete seamlessly into the old corner which added strength.

New Corner

Here you can see the new, strong, reinforced corner.

After

The homeowner painted over the concrete after we were finished.

Repaired Structure Complete

We restored the structural integrity to this boathouse making it safe again.
